When will I receive my amended tax return?

I amended my taxes and have not heard anything back.

An amended return is form 1040X and you must print and mail it to the IRS. In about 3 weeks after you mail it, you can start tracking it at the IRS amended return tracking web site: 

http://www.irs.gov/Filing/Individuals/Amended-Returns-(Form-1040-X)/Wheres-My-Amended-Return-1

It takes the IRS up to 16 weeks to process an amended return.
