When filing my taxes I put one digit off from my account number for direct deposit, this account number does not belong to anyone. Has this ever happen to anyone?

If it is wrong or the bank rejects the deposit and sends it back to the IRS, then the IRS will mail a check to the address on your return.

How long does that normally take and does the irs update there website saying its been sent?
