When date does IRS start accepting 2017 electronic refunds?

@Cbraswell45 ......did you have EIC or CTC on your return?  Has anyone in KY been approved with their state return?  I filed several days ago, federal was accepted immediately, state of KY is still pending, it's never happened like that before, usually state accepts right after federal

@Cbraswell45  The state have increases this year in the amount time that efiler's, often mailed returns.  Be patient and it will come.  Better than norhing with NO experience.

I sent mine in on January 3rd, they just accepted mine on the 12th I'm expecting my federal to hit the bank anywhere from Jan 23-feb5th

Just so you are aware, the IRS will not begin processing e-filed returns until 1/23/2017 and refunds for 8 out of 10 people are expected within 21 days of acceptance or the beginning of processing.  If you claimed the Earned Income Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit, the IRS is legally not allowed to release the refund until February 15, 2017.

Oh so if I claimed the earned income credit it 100% won't be here before the 15th of feb?

Correct, it won't even be RELEASED until then.  They are expecting it to hit bank accounts the last week of February (due to the Presidents Day holiday).  This was new legislation that was passed by congress with the PATH act.

So I was accepted on 12th but should expect refund end of February or little before

If the you have the Earned Income Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit - you should expect the end of February since the legislation passed requiring them to hold refunds does not include early release for test batches (however, these could be processed "earlier" than others, but refunds still have to be held by the IRS until 2/15).  The 2/27 direct deposit "hit" date is estimated due to the holidays and I am thinking seems like a conservative estimate.
