Same here. It tells me to come back on the 4th. Well, it's the 4th 🤷
We cannot give you an exact time. Why are you in a hurry to just put your tax return on a server? Filing now just puts it on a server where it will sit for a few weeks until the IRS begins to accept/reject e-files.
Users who rush to file early often end up under review or file with mistakes that require them to amend later. If you file before the IRS is accepting returns, your return just sits on a server, where you will be powerless to fix any mistakes you discover after you file. No changes can be made when your return is pending on a server. And….every year…..Every. Year. …..we get users who want to know how to fix their incorrect e-filed returns that are sitting on the server.
And…..do not try to file a tax return without ALL of your income documents; you must include every 2023 W-2 on the same tax return. Employers have until the end of January to issue W-2’s. Wait until you have all of your W-2’s. Clients, schools, Social Security, banks and other financial institutions may not have tax documents available until late January/early February. ALL of your tax documents must be entered on the same Form 1040; do not file unless you have entered everything.
Your first sentence could have answered the one and only question that was asked, instead of the lecture and the information that was never even asked for. You do your way. We obviously do it ours, I've never had a mistake and I've never had to amend or correct anything so maybe find a post where they're actually talking about that?
