The TurboTax Where's My Refund tracking guide will show you how to find the status of your IRS or state tax refund. There are two steps to e-filing a tax return:

Your tax return is e-filed and is either approved or rejected by the IR e-file status.S. If you used TurboTax to e-file your return, you can go to our e-file status lookup tool to get your current status (pending, accepted, or rejected).
After your tax return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS can tell you the status of processing that return, whether you owe taxes or are due a tax refund.
