I suggest you print out the return that is showing the $10,549 refund and compare the Form 1040 on it to the one you filed. Then, adjust the return until it agrees with the return you filed and then the refund meter may return to zero. Also, you could try starting the amended return over to see if that resolves the issue.
Ok good advice. I was too focused on reporting a bug in software and your suggestion was same as turbotax support. Good to think outside of the box and just modify the numbers like you said.
There were several errors like my tax due was off by $8K when my original was correct. So the issue is it did not import the same numbers as on my original 1040. And that original 1040 also is correct if I pull it up in the amended return. But 1040-x just didn't read it right.
