My return was rejected due to my son claiming himself as a dependent on his return. He has filed an amended return changing his dependent status. What documentation do I need to attach to file my return by mail?

Relating to your rejected return, I'd attach to your mailed return a brief statement explaining what you've explained above.

As far as attachments that generally need to be made to a mailed return, please see "Assemble Your Return" on page 66 of 2018 Instructions for Form 1040.
