You said “it said this” what did it say (WMR)?
Correction: When I check WMR (where’s my refund) on the irs webpage, it told me my return processing has been delayed beyond the normal timeframe. So after I read that, I signed into my irs account on there website and then selected the account transcript tab and it told me my refund deposit date. Sorry for the typos.
Most likely this is just due to a general processing backlog, so do not panic. The IRS does not notify TT of the reason(s). Also see:
Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions | Internal Revenue Service (irs.gov)
Don’t mean to keep asking ?’s but what did your WMR say before that? And what is your cycle code?
It just kept saying you that the urs have received my return and it is being processed. Topic code 152
This is so frustrating. I've never been delayed before and don't have EITC or Child credits. I'm on day 18 of processing (accepted 2/1) and this message popped up. What's more frustrating is that apparently this is a widespread thing - FURTHER delaying refunds.
I have this message and just went into my acxount transcript and it is saying I have error codes 971 and 570 so mine is delayed and it is showing my return to $400 less then what it was supposed to be. Does anyone know if this is because my place of employment for this year had me marked as married filing separately instead of single? I have never been married and not quit sure why they would put that!! THANKS
If you don’t already have one, make a account in the irs website and once your done, scroll to account transcript and it may show your deposit date like it shown mine yesterday. But beings though you just filed, I don’t know how soon it may be on there. I filed 1/28
You may need to check again. That’s not the date you should be receiving your deposit. I seen that same date on mine, but you have to look at where it says refund for February
Today when I checked WMR it shows the same date for my refund that the account transcript did. So everything is going right for me lol
Maybe you can help: it says on transcript anything with - Infront means amount of refund for deposit. It shows a specify amount minus the 1400 I got for 3rd stimulus on 3/7 then it shows 2 other amounts with - Infront on April 22nd. Would that mean they r depositing the total amount on 2 different dates or the first amount on 3/7 will be it ? I have never had to see my transcript before and IRS is not helpful explaining. It
I took the advice of another person on here who responded and looked at my transcript. I read it three times and now think I can make sense of it. Not only does it appear the 3rd stimulus check the only one out of the 3 I received and not till after I filed my 2020 taxes, is being deducted out if my total amount of refund. The date shows 10 weeks and 5 days from the date i filed till the date it shows possible deposited so April 22nd which I am not impressed with this. That is why I have not done my amendment for the first 2 stimulus yet because it would delay it a total of 16 weeks. So I would say when she told you 10 weeks that was accurate starting from date you e-filed.
So that negative $1400 is also on mine but no we would not be getting that. April 15th is considered tax day so to my knowledge I think that’s just shows us what was added into our return although we are not tax on that.
Why would you have to amend your stimulus? Did you not receive them or something because normally when you file your 2021 taxes. It’s ask the question if you received it, and if not it would give it to you once you receive your tax refund.
No, I did not receive any amount of the first 2 stimulus packages . I was apparently in a semi small group who were over looked. I filed my taxes just like I do every year but never received them. Once I did my 2020 taxes then I got a letter from IRS in Nov of 2021 saying your 3rd stimulus will be deposited on Nov 17th and it was. The letter also said if you did not receive accurate amount or less the the amounts of stimulus 1 or 2 or if you never received 1 of them or both of stimulus 1 and 2 you can amend your taxes. Well by the time I went through to do my 2021 taxes it said it will take 16 weeks if you do your amendment at same time as your taxes I believe that is like the 1040x form . so I called IRS and they recommended doing it after I got my tax refund for 2021 that way it didn't delay them longer then needed.
