An amended return is initiated by you, revised by you, SUBMITTED by you, and monitored by you.
if you have not yet figured how to do an amendment, nothing is in progress,
start by opening the filed return and go into "federal" then "other tax situations" then at the bottom see "amend a return"
This “useless” Community is comprised of volunteers who are simply TT users just like you.
We do not have access to your account TT gets no information from the IRS after you file.
You made a mistake on your return. Did you wait for the return to be processed before you amended? Amending does not stop the processing of the original return. The IRS uses an old archaic computer system that cannot handle the volume of returns that it receives. Amendments are handled manually despite efiling.
Don’t amend until after it’s processed. The IRS may find the error and correct it without needing to amend.
That’s the best I can say from a useless community member.
