I filed my taxes, and was expecting a refund in about 3 weeks. Both my federal and state are accepted but not approved. I did not sign up for a refund advance. Today, I received a deposit of about half of what my federal refund should be, minus filing fees. It's over $1000 short of what I am supposed to be refunded. I called the state and they have received my return and it's processing, but they stated that I have no offsets from them. I also have no liens or offsets that I know of. I called TOPS and there are no garnishments or offsets on record.
Why would I have received a partial return from SBTPG already?

Most likely the IRS made an adjustment, and will be sending you a letter (allow 2 weeks for that) explaining it. However, a $1,000 difference leads me to think you may have made a decimal point (or comma) data entry error somewhere, so check that in the meantime. Or, did you ask to have part of your refund applied towards 2021 estimated taxes?
No, there were no errors on my taxes. I made very sure they were completely accurate, and I did not apply my return to any other taxes.
Well I guess I did request a refund advance according to my documents that I just reread, but it was denied at the time... So does Turbo Tax deposit an advance early?
