If you're using TurboTax Desktop, you should see Preview in the drop-down menu when you choose FILE in the upper left corner.
If you're using TurboTax Online, go to Tax Tools > Tools > Print Center to print your returns or save as PDF to your computer to print later.
Make sure you're in your return when trying to print. Click on a category, Wages & Income or Deductions & Credits to see your entries to be sure.
I have TurboTax desktop for Mac. I do not see a drop-down menu when I choose the File tab. I do see where to click Save for your Records and that's what I've been trying. I choose Print Returns, the pizza wheel spins for awhile, then I get beep-beep-beep and nothing.
I plan to try again in a month or so, hoping an update might correct the problem. But if not, I think I will be able log into my account at the IRS and print my return from there. Since I only just filed today, the IRS page says to allow 21 days.
I've never run into this problem before. I was hoping to be all done with taxes today, but I'll just have to revisit in a month or so. I
I am not sure where you are in the program but this is what I posted beforeHi I followed workaround instructions from someone and they worked. There are a number of steps but you need to go to the top bar and select file, then select preview, a window will open and you will select what return(s) you want to preview, also select whether you just want to print the tax return, recommended forms or all forms, click preview, a small window will open up showing your form, hover over the form and you should see a pop up showing the + and - signs for making it bigger or smaller, but you will also see to the right of that a square with what looks like an old fashioned ink bottle in front of it. Click or double click on the image of the square/ink bottle. The return will open up in a PDF file and you will be able to print it by selecting from the top bar file, then print and your PDF will print. Give that a try and it should work. It is a long workaround, but until they fix the print button in their program it is the only way I can get it to print. I have printed a number of items that way since I tried it. Good luck
When you click preview a small version of your tax return shows up in a small window. Move your mouse over it and hover and follow my instructions a love by a pop up of the + and - signs with the square and what looks like an ink bottle in front of it. Click on that icon and it will open as a pdf and you can print from there. Confusing I know but that is the only way it works at the moment until TT fixes the print button.
It should work. Make sure you are selecting file from the top bar that has turbo tax on it, not safari, when you click file you should see page set up, print and print preview in the box in lower left. follow my instructions and it should work:

Thank you so much for your reply. But I'm just not seeing that under the File tab. I'm in the Macintosh version, maybe that's the difference. Also I've already filed so Preview is technically a thing of the past.
My plan is to use the IRS website, and when enough time has gone by for my return to be processed I am pretty sure I will be able to see and print my return from there.
Just the same, I do appreciate that you took the time to reply!
I meant to say I'm in the Macintosh download version.
Very clever and helpful. It worked after TT refused to print in any of the normal ways.
Can't print or save!
Thank you for all of your help, especially kd_idaho having a similiar issue as I am.
I still had the same printing issue and finally contacted the TurboTax. They could not figure it out immediately either but agreed to get back to me when a solution is found. I will share it when I get a reply. By the way, mine is a TurboTax Premier desk top version.

Life saver. Thanks for finding a workaround. I hope TurboTax gets their act together and fixes this.
Thanks to the instructions that I found on Google, I was able to print my return.
My question is why would Turbo Tax put all users thru this agony? I thought it is supposed to be easier and convenient for users.
My Sincere Thanks to the person who put the work around instructions on Google.
So have you been informed of a fix yet?
Yes, a previous post provided a work-around that enabled me to access a PDF of the return and print it.
I had printing issues with my 2024 desk top Mac version.
After completing all the input and came to "File" and chose "Save for Your Records", I clicked "Print Returns", but there was no printing, only a clicking sound.
The issue was finally resolved as follows. By calling the TurboTax help line, I was told to make sure that the "TurboTax" was shown at the top left corner of my computer screen, and click "File" at the top left corner. Scroll down and click "Save to PDF." This way, I was able to save it on my computer and print it.
Hope this works for you!

The printing issue for Mac devices was reported as fixed within the last couple of days. There was recently a large update to TurboTax Desktop. Be sure to download and install updates.
