When attempting to e-file a return in the TurboTax for Windows CD/Download software, this message appears:
There is an update available for your version of TurboTax. Before you can file electronically, you’ll need to get this update. To do this, go to the Online menu and select Check for Updates.
However, after updating, the same message continues to reappear, resulting in an endless loop.
I live in Florida. We have no state tax.
I posted this in another thread but the response was useless.

Update. After trying to efile multiple times today and getting the unable to file message, I tried one more time. This time, I got a form update and was able to efile.
A quirk this year where your Turbo Tax needs to be updated manually using this link:
You have a description or amount on line 18 write in fields of form 1040
Just to clarify, are you having an issue with your the fields on form 1040?
I tried multiple times. It was the zip code for one of my investments. I called them and they said it was the right zip code. So I had to send in a paper file to submit vs electronic. Now 4 weeks into it, no refund. If this happens again I will FIRE Turbo tax because they could not and would not help me. And then the corona virus hit.
It could take up to 6 weeks to receive your refund when mailed to the IRS.
The IRS is continuing to help taxpayers, process returns and issuing refunds to the "greatest extent possible."
Please refer to the following link for an update.

Time to consider going back to Tax Act. Turbo Tax is a bloated piece of software. Someone like Amazon or Google could write better software and it would be well supported. Turbo has horrible Customer Service.
