Tracking my amended tax return

I needed to amend my tax return and was instructed to mail my amended tax information to the IRS and i need to know when i will be getting that back.

It generally takes the IRS 12-16 weeks to process an amended tax return. You can track the status of your amended return 3 weeks after mailing it to the IRS at their Where's My Amended Return? site.

It's been 5 weeks since i mailed in my 1040X papers and the irs shows that they have no record of it.
