The IRS made changes to my filed return - should I make those changes in 2018 within Turbo Tax?

 

How will the system know when I get to 2019, that those changes were made?

The IRS made changes to my filed return - should I make those changes in 2018 within Turbo Tax

Since most years' tax returns are "self-contained", there are only a few items that transfer that you'd need to update.  Most often adjustments made by the IRS don't change the subsequent year's return.  That would depend on your individual tax situation.

 

The TurboTax FAQ below addresses the issue, however, if there are transferred values that you need to edit.  You can make changes as you go through your interview.
