Depending how you selected to pay the federal taxes owed, look at either your bank account or credit account statements.

The IRS does not inform you when the taxes have been paid.

If you meant how do I know if my refund was taken for an offset ... then check the IRS WMR? tool ... https://www.irs.gov/refunds
