I am divorced since last year December but paid alimony under a separation for the entire year. The final agreement is in place since October and I am divorced since December. Prior to October I paid alimony under a temporary order.
Which divorce documents do I need to attach to my first tax return as divorced single to deduct alimony? Do I need to attach these every year?

You must enter the social security number (SSN) or individual taxpayer identification number (ITIN) of the spouse or former spouse receiving the payments or your deduction may be denied. However, you are not required to attach the divorce decree or any other documents to your tax return.
