How long did it take for tax return to come after filing through the mail?

It can take 4-6 weeks to receive your check via mail. This is after the IRS accepts and approves your return. If your original check was returned to the IRS for some reason, it will take longer for the second check to be issued because they have to ensure the first check was not cashed.
