Hi everyone,
I recently requested a tax return transcript for 2016 via phone. They instructed me to enter the street number on file for that year. However, the address on file for the year was a bit different than now due to some typo. I did correct it in the the return 2017. For example, 4588 versus 4500. It's now correct.
My question is whether the the transcript for 2016 will be sent to the old wrong address or the new updated one?
I'm confused now because when requesting this document. They didn't ask me where to send it to. So I supposed it might be sent to the current address.
Someone please helps me on this.
Thank you very much.

The IRS will send it to the most current address they have on file. That would be the address you entered on your 2017 tax return, assuming you have already filed that return and it has been accepted and completely processed by the IRS. Otherwise, it will be the address on the most recent tax return filed.
