TAX RETURN STATUS SUBMITTED BY MAIL

I sent my return by certified mail and tracked it--delivered to IRS Feb 21.  I have not seen my refund and the IRS refund status check does not show anything.  How do I see what is going on with my return?

Unfortunately, right now you cannot track it.  I would not expect for you to see an update until the IRS re-opens and resumes processing. 

Most likely, your return had not yet been scanned into the systems that provide tracking prior to the IRS shutdown in March. 

We do not yet know when the IRS will again be processing paper filed returns.
