I got the stimulus deposited in my account this morning, I was expecting 2900. married jointly with one dependent. Only got 1700.  Filed march 29th for 2019

2018 I filed head of household with one dependent.

Is it possible that the IRS based themselves on the previous year's filing status? and what I do to try and get the full amount?

What is the age of your children?  Only children age 16 and younger are counted for this payment.

If your child is age 17 or older, you will not receive the $500 for your child. It is not actually known which tax year is used to determine the age of the child.

As of today, April 15, 2020, the only known way to reconcile advances of the credit that are not correct is to do so when you file your return for the 2020 tax year in 2021.  Of course, this is subject to change.
