Is anyone else still waiting to be accepted after 48 hours? This is getting on my nerves now that my return is still pending.

The IRS processes and issues refunds on average, within 21 days. So, you're still within that timeframe. Pending can take anywhere from 3 days to a few weeks.

The best way to keep up to date is to check Where's My Refund?.

Please refer to the following help article for the details on your pending status.

Here's more information about an accepted return.

I'm not asking about the approval of my refund I'm inquiring as to why my return hasn't been accepted by the irs and it's been over 48 hours. I'm well aware of the time frames for the issuance of my refund but it should not take days for the irs to merely accept or reject my return. I have never waited this long for my return to be received by the irs.

Your return will stay in Pending status until the IRS finishes processing the backlog of returns. After January, e-filed returns generally sit in Pending status for 24–48 hours before coming back as either Accepted or Rejected. Sometimes returns stay in Pending for several days or even longer.  Unfortunately, TurboTax has no control over how long the IRS takes to accept a return.
