State took money out of my account instead of refunding

I used TurboTax to efile state income tax and was expecting a refund. Instead the state took money out. How can I find out why I had to pay instead of getting a refund?  I had previously got a message from TurboTax that my return was accepted by Colorado state before the payment was taken.

The state will be sending a notice in the mail in the next few weeks to explain what was changed on the state tax return that resulted in taxes owed.
