State Return Still Pending

My federal return has been accepted for a week now but my CA state tax return is still pending. I called TurboTax and the representative didn’t have any idea why. I then called the CA tax board and they stated my 2023 tax return has not been received yet. I’ve never waited this long for TurboTax to submit my return to the state. Why are they just sitting on it and not submitting it? I think this is the last year I’ll be using TurboTax. Seems like it’s gone downhill in the last 14 years I’ve been a customer.

More than likely the state of California is not yet accepting e-filed tax returns for tax year 2023.  Until they do start accepting state returns your state return will remain Pending.

The person I spoke to at the CA tax board confirmed they have already begun accepting and processing tax returns for 2023.

Then you will have to wait for the state to pull the return from the TurboTax server.
