Split Return Notifications

I've got a friend who is going to help me with my taxes this year.  I'm expecting a return as I have in the past.  I know Turbo Tax has an option to split the return to different bank accounts.  If the person helping me were to help themselves to a part of my return, would I be notified of the split, how much was split, and how would I be notified?  Just want to be sure I'm not taken advantage of.  Appreciate any details you can give.

If you distrust your "friend" so much that you worry they might divert your refund to their own account, why not scrap that plan altogether and use one of the "Live" online versions and get help from a tax expert to prepare your tax return.  The added cost might be worth it.

It's not a distrust, otherwise I wouldn't have him doing it. Money creates temptations and I would just like to know if there's any emails, mailed letters or notifications that I would get to let me know if the return was split. Its just keeping him honest.

Split Return Notifications

No.  There would not be an email or a notice about splitting the refund between two accounts.  One thing you should know is that if a refund is sent to someone else's bank account, the bank is highly likely to refuse the direct deposit and send it back to the IRS.  Then the IRS issues a check and mails it to the address on your tax return.

Certainly your friend is going to print out your return and provide you with a copy, right?
