Should I go back and amend my 2018 taxes if I just received a corrected W-2, the new form just has a correction to my SS and medicare wages. It is about 2000 less.

If the only correction on the W-2 were to the Social Security and Medicare wages, box 3 and box 5, there is no need to amend the 2018 tax return.    There would be no changes to the return if amended.
