I have been with Turbo Tax for years and have enjoyed the product. I forgot to update a bank account number this year so my direct deposit was rejected. This is where the problem begins, It was then returned to Santa Barbara Tax Group and they said they would send me a check. I waited and have Informed Delivery and nothing, so I called and they made me sign a Indemnity Bond to issue a second check with they said they did which for reference was 03/18/2025. For reference my bank sent me a car title from Minnesota to Texas and it was delivered in 2 days that was February 25 and received it the 28th. So the likely hood that SBTPG sent me 2 checks and both disappeared and they never had them returned to them is highly unlikely, maybe lottery odds.
Like others have stated its unfortunate that Turbo Tax does not review this or give some assistance, because with thousands of similar complaints you would think Turbo Tax would look for solutions.
Now they say they will just send it back to the IRS which is likely to take 2 weeks and 10 to 12 weeks to process for IRS to send me a check. My opinion is Turbo Tax and SBTPG both got their fees from my tax refund so they should be responsible for giving me the money that I am owed. SBTPG only states that its against our policy, well you charge people for a service and get your money and hold my money for months, saying that check is in the mail which is not tracked and USPS has no record of a piece of mail sent or returned to SBTPG. Sounds like so fraud and horrible policies, or just a scam.
