It depends on whether you actually added a penalty for not taking a Required Minimum Distribution or not.

 

Check your tax return for Form 5329. If Part IX, near the bottom of the second page is filled out, then you should amend your tax return. 

 

If you have no Form 5329, or if Part IX is blank, you don't need to amend your return. 

 

Some of these questions are just designed to help TurboTax complete your return correctly and they don't actually get transmitted with the return.

Thank you, I was really upset and tried calling turbo tax 3 times and got no helpful answer each time, so decided to try the forum.  again THANK YOU
