Regarding refunds and amending taxes

After I filed my taxes I realized I needed to amend my return. I did as the instructions said, and waited until the federal refund had deposited into my bank account. Now as I'm preparing my amended tax return turbo tax is predicting a federal refund. Is this ANOTHER refund, or does this replace the previous refund? I'm claiming one extra child--- that 's what I needed to amend.

That would be an additional refund. when you are completing your amended return, it takes into account the amount you received on your original return.

For example, if your original refund amount was$1,000 and on the amended return it shows a refund amount of $500, this is saying that had the original return been completed correctly, then your refund would have been $1,500.
