refund

Funny how much we pay to get help and yet all we get is a community forum.

Don't know who will get this, but I paid a lot to get my turbo  taxes done and to get help. I had $746.00 due in refund. IRS says the refund was sent to my bank on March 18 . They provided the last 4 digits of bank account they said it went to of which none of mine. I called Turbo tax and was told that I would get the refund in a card on April 1st. No card. I would like to get the refund. I should not have to chase this, but since I have to I would like your help. Thank you.

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com

refund

whoever answered that really put me in my place....Good job

No, I did not pay with my refund. I used a credit card and I paid using the Turbo tax site. And no, Turbo tax doesn't refund my tax money, I never for a second thought that, but they are supposed to be a resource when the filing done through their site fails. I paid the extra $60.00 to speak to a person. Turbo tax, intuit or whoever is affiliated was paid yo help me. I have not been helped. You second guessing me and correcting me did not help either. I don't know how it got filed or to whom I just trusted the Turbo tax site to help me do this right. I guess that trust has cost me $746.00. And cost Turbo tax my business; there are plenty more sheep who will come to replace me.

I was not in any way trying to put you "in your place."   The question about your fees was a legitimate question we often need to ask since when the user does get the fees deducted from their refund, the IRS has banking information for the third party bank---which of course is an unfamiliar account number to the user.

Another possibility is that somehow the refund went to an incorrect bank account.  If that happens, the bank rejects the deposit and sends it back to the IRS.  Then the IRS issues a paper check and mails it out to the address on the tax return.

Unfortunately, TurboTax cannot trace your refund for you.  The IRS does not give TT any information at all after you file the return.   TurboTax cannot legally intercede with the IRS on your behalf.   Only the IRS can tell you what they did with your refund.
