Refund Status

We filed our return on 2/5 and it was accepted on 2/12. I keep checking IRS.gov but all it says is it's "pending". Why would it take so long? Does it mean something is wrong?

Pending simply means that your e-filed return is on its way and that the government hasn't accepted or rejected it yet. Unfortunately, the IRS is taking a bit longer than usual so you are not alone but no need to worry. See What does "Pending" mean?
