Where was my refund directly deposited and how do I talk to them?
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
What did you choose for your refund method--direct deposit to your bank account or to a prepaid card? If a card, was it the Turbo Prepaid Visa Card?
Did you have any TurboTax fees that you chose to pay out of your Federal refund? If so, your funds go first to a temporary bank account at an intermediary company (SBTPG) we can tell you about and how to check on it.
Has your refund actually been released from the IRS? Check here:

They took child support out then it was suppose to go on my prepaid card
Are you the same person as the threadowner or different? The screen name is different.
So after the IRS offset the child support amount, there was still some Federal refund left to be deposited to you?
What do you see when you use this IRS "Where's My Refund" tool? https://www.irs.gov/Refunds
Has your refund been released? If so, the IRS will always show that they sent the deposit to a "bank" even if it is actually a prepaid card. A prepaid card uses an underlying bank account, so the IRS doesn't know if the refund went to a bank or card, so they always say "bank."
If the IRS has sent the refund, you'd need to check with the Customer Support for your prepaid card. Is it a Turbo Prepaid Visa Card or something else?
There could be another link in the chain, however. Did you have any TurboTax fees that you chose to pay out of the Federal refund? If so, the funds go from the IRS to a temporary bank account at the intermediary company (SBTPG) that takes out the fees. If you used that method to pay fees, and if the IRS has released your funds, we can tell yo how to check on the funds at the level of that intermediary company.
