Refund decrease after amending

Added another dependent. That’s all that changed. Refund went down $2000 :(

When you create an amended return, the refund shown on the screen is only for the amended return on its own.  It does not include the refund amount from your original return.  The original return and the amended return are two separate returns.

Thank you sooo much for your response. I was hoping that was the case. I had just never received the original refund so I was getting nervous
