Refund closed account

Tex refund for 2022 was sent to a closed account this last December in 2024. The bank was credit karma and they stated they will reject it and IRS will will need to be contacted to check the status of it. I have not been able to call the IRS. It has been a month since it was sent to the bank I E-filed it back in 2022. What do I do now? Contact the IRS? Is there another form to fill out to check on it?

The IRS should automatically mail a check in about 4 weeks from the blocked deposit.  If it takes more than 8 weeks, call the IRS.  If your address is different, the check should be forwarded if you set up forwarding with the mail.  If the check is not forwarded, it will be returned to the IRS and you will have to put a trace on your refund to locate it and issue a new check.  But wait 8 weeks from the rejected deposit before you try to start a trace.
