Refund Advance

If you’re trying to get a refund advance do you still have to wait until late January for the IRS to accept or reject? Will they accept sooner for advances?

Whether or not the IRS accepts or rejects a tax return has no bearing on if a refund advance has been requested.

The IRS has stated that they will start receiving tax return on January 29, 2024.

The IRS sometimes processes a few returns early to test their system, but there is no way to know when this will happen or who will be selected.   The IRS has no idea you were approved for an advance from your tax software company and they don't care.  They will do whatever they do whenever they want to.
