What does ready to mail mean for my state tax? Who do I need to contact about that?

If your state return in  your online account has a "return status" of "Ready to mail," that means it hasn't been filed UNLESS you actually did print it out and mail it to the state.  TurboTax does not mail it for you.  Did you print, sign, and mail it to the state tax agency?

If you haven't filed it and prefer to efile, we can tell you how to open it back up if you want to switch to efile.

If you DID mail it to the state, then your account's return status will continue to say "ready to mail", since TurboTax won't know if you actually dropped it into a mailbox or not.

Hi there,

In regards to "Ready to Mail" action, I have mailed my signed files to Turbo tax two months ago and still haven't heard anything back yet.

Please let me know,

Thanks,

You don't mail your return to TurboTax. You mail your federal return to the IRS and you mail your state return to the state tax authority. If you mailed them to Turbotax they have not been sent to where they need to go and TurboTax will not send them.

You can track the status of your federal return at this IRS web site: https://www.irs.gov/refunds

You can find the state web site using this link: https://www.irs.gov/refunds
