I combined my 2017&16 w-2 together on a amended 2017 return form

Since an amended return has to be mailed to the IRS and processed by hand, it can take up to 16 weeks for the IRS to manually process it. So you need to wait. If the IRS catches that error, they will mail you. So if you amend again and then receive a letter from the IRS about the first amended return because they haven't processed the 2nd one yet, you'll find yourself in an even deeper nightmare than you have right now. So wait.

Meanwhile, your amended .tax2017 file is on your computer in the documents/turbotax directory (if that's where you put it).

However, if you amended before Oct 15th, it's still in your online account. So once TurboTax opens up the online system sometime in Dec for the 2018 tax filing season,you'll need to download your .tax2017 file from your past year's return so you'll have it on your computer when it's time to amend. Right now, the online service is down while TurboTax prepares for the 2018 season. So you have no choice but to wait it out.
