Why does my status still say pending?

Mine does as well IRS does not start processing Returns until the 29th usually I get an answer the same day I file not the case this year Turbo will submit returns to the IRS once it opens I guess. My daughter was accepted already but I also read they took a test batch . I would think tomorrow

Yes, you are correct. The IRS will begin processing e-filed tax returns on January 29 this year.

They have selected a small number of test returns to start processing before January 29, which is why your daughter's return is accepted already.

That process is entirely random, so there isn't anything you can do to speed up the process.

Keep in mind that the initial processing of your your e-file may take 24 to 48 hours, so you could remain in pending status until February 1.

Yes. It does answer my question. My tax got rejected due to I don’t have a PIN which the IRS has sent out back in December which I never got so I called IRS and they reissued it so I have to wait for it to come in the mail.
