Why am I unable to print the tax forms from my iMac this year? I've used Turbo Tax for several years with no problem. When will this be corrected?

Same issue- I get the spinning ball, then a pop. I have saved as a PDF, and when I print but do not get the tax return alone, I get ALL the worksheets- now I'm not sure what to send if I return by mail. 

Clearly a glitch with the software- why can't TT find a fix for this??? VERY frustrating.

YES!!!!! Have to go to preview and print from there, but then it prints EVERYTHING, and I don't want everything, just what I need to return to the IRS.

The work-around posted on here did work for me and has multiple times including today. Very frustrating that Turbotax continues to act like this problem for Mac users doesn't exist. Just to complicate my problem I already had to file amended forms so I had to do the work-around multiple times.

I have not checked all the replies TLDR; but on Macs you can use File- -> Preview and then you can choose any flavor of forms you want to preview, then save it off as a PDF or print it.

Same as others with same printing problem.  I transmited my return to the feds and state but can't print a copy.  Stumped!!!

Anybody who's still having trouble printing ...

I recommend you first try this simple workaround, which was posted by bpayseno and others:

"Work-around until Intuit fixes the print function.

1)  Use the "Save to PDF" option in the "File" menu of the desktop program and save a copy of your returns to location you can easily find on your computer.

2)  Open the PDF of your returns in your PDF reader program (acrobat, Preview, etc.) and use that program to print to your local printer."

^ That solution seems to work for most people now.

Here's how I eventually got my 2024 Tax Return to print (Mac Desktop with TurboTax Desktop Version, HP printer)...

1) With TurboTax open on my desktop and on the Save For Your Records tab ...

2) I clicked on "File" from the TurboTax menu in the top menu bar ...

3) Then I chose "Preview" at the bottom of the "File" dropdown menu ...

4) Upon doing that, a new Preview window opened up.

5) Ensure that "2024 Federal Tax Return" is checked on the left hand side of the new window.

6) Choose which 2024 Tax Return forms you'd like to print. (I stuck with the default labeled "Recommended forms & worksheets."

7) Click on the blue "Preview" button in the lower right of that same window.

8. Another new window will open up -- this one, at least on my computer, is a very tiny version of my entire 2024 Federal Tax Return.

9) Put your cursor over the tiny preview window (ie, over your mini-tax return). A small 4-item menu will appear (if it's not already there).

10) Click on the little icon to the left of the download arrow. (The download arrow on the far right of that 4-item menu did not function properly for me. It would not download the preview.) The icon you should click on looks like an ink bottle in front of a square piece of paper.

11) Now, a new window will open up in the "Preview" app. In my case, the new document that opened up had a strange document name with six letters and numbers followed by "-Unknown.pdf." I changed the document's name to my own choosing prior to taking the next step so that I could find my file after I saved it.

12) Now, from the Preview menu in the top menu bar, Click on "File."

13) Click on "Print" at the bottom of that "File" menu.

14) You will now be able to Save your TurboTax return as a PDF ... and/or ... you will be able to Print your TurboTax return.

15) Phew. That's a lot of work, TurboTax! You need to do better.

Did you try the long version of the workaround (Method 2)?

If so, you should have seen a window that allowed you to choose which forms you want to save or print.

Step 6 of that longer workaround is: 

Choose which 2024 Tax Return forms you'd like to print. (I stuck with the default labeled "Recommended forms & worksheets."

I was successful when I left the radio button on the default Recommended forms & worksheets option though I did see the four item mini window, select the second from the right icon as described elsewhere. It failed with the spinning beachball cursor and following beep when I chose All forms. It looks to me that there is a bug there.

Thanks for typing in the steps you were given. This helped me get a PDF of my taxes.  But -- I agree. It should be easy to print, using a Mac, directly from the TurboTax program.

I have the same problem as everyone else and this is totally unacceptable.   I am also unable to create a PDF to print as a work around.   I have a return prepared for a family member in another town and I have no way to give him something to review before filing!    Turbotax - fix this NOW!

One workaround is to bring up the form in Turbotax you want to print, then do a screen capture using command-shift-5 and select the entire form by outlining it with your mouse.  Click 'capture' at the bottom of your screen and Save to your desktop and then print.  Granted, a cumbersome method, but if you only need to print a few forms its ok.

Same problem - Turbo-Tax needs an update to fix this. The cd never gave me a problem.
