Who can I call? Tax refund hasn't been received, going on day 45. ALL the IRS numbers are unavailable.

Filed on 2/17.  Where's my refund link on IRS.gov showed return was received and accepted...the bars were showing like they should, then on the day I should have received refund, the bars disappeared and I had a message saying it was being processed and a date will be given when it's done...The message never changes, I check every morning. I can't call anyone, I've tried all the numbers I can find. They are not accepting phone calls at this time. They are not accepting appointments at local offices either. I think they are holding it hostage!

Same issue here... filed late February, got an accepted status and no refund, no communication from IRS regarding any problems and I've tried multiple times to navigate the phone tree to get a live body... no joy!!

It is a year of unprecedented activity and actions due to the pandemic.  This year has brought challenges and unknown timelines. The IRS is required to reconcile the tax returns and stimulus payments as well as working on the third stimulus payments due to the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA).  With the tax season and the changes taking place all at once, a delay should be expected for full payments. They want to be diligent and are required to follow any protocols they have been issued.

If there is a hardship you may be able to get assistance from the Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS).

Certainly not acceptable to me...  I got ZERO stimulus payments -- I paid my taxes and did what I was expected to do, in the timeframes defined... so how is it more important that some of us are punished while other reap the benefits of socialism?  You can rationalize it all you want, the bottomline the Government has not done their job and they work for US!!!  Not just a few but all.

@DianeW777 gave good advice.  You can also contact Taxpayer Assistance Center Local IRS Office.  These are challenging times.

Thank you for the advice and numbers shared, however, they are not accepting calls either. The recording sends you back to the IRS>gov website.

Just a little FYI, IRS has basically suspended processing refunds until the Stimulus payments have been issued.  That project is well underway, therefore refunds will start processing soon.  TurboTax does not issue refunds or stimulus payments and can not provide any further information on when you will receive your refund.
