I filed my taxes using turbotax on 3/17 and my federal and state returns were immediately accepted. Now, a month later, my federal refund status says "refund still processing". With coronavirus being at it's peak currently, there is no live assistance at the IRS to help me figure out why it is still processing. I already received my state refund.
I'm not sure what to do because my stimulus check is also hung up with my 2019 federal return. When I checked the IRS website they said I need to update my bank information, but I cannot do that because they haven't accepted my 2019 return yet. In 2018 my husband and I both filed single but in 2019 we filed jointly and I took a maternity leave so my income is significantly lower for the 2019 year as I was not working for most of the year. So 2018 to 2019 returns would put us into a different category for the stimulus check.
I guess I am wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation or knows anything that I can do. Thank you.

Sort of similar situation. I filed March 12th and both state and federal were approved immediately(I owed state but would be getting money back from federal) What I owed in state taxes was drafted from my bank account on March 25th but I have yet to receive my federal refund or my stimulus money.
Same thing here -- e-filed in mid March, got immediate acceptance of return, but they say they're still processing and no refund yet. It's ok if they are just backed up, but it's worrying me that maybe there's a problem. Any experts out there know what might be going on and when to really worry?
