Tax return pending no update?

So you are seeing an efile status of "pending?"  When did you efile?  If you filed early (prior to January 26), your return was sitting on TurboTax servers until the IRS opened for this year on January 26 (except for a few that were pulled early for testing purposes.)   When the IRS opened yesterday, they started pulling efiled returns from TurboTax servers and from other companies servers.   Because of the backlog each year when they first open, it may take longer than 48 hours to find out if your return is accepted/rejected.    If it shows as "pending", then you at least know it was transmitted.   There's not really anything you can do except to check your Tax Home page occasionally to see the status.  And you should also receive an email when it's accepted or rejected.
