I just got my federal taxes back and I was supposed to get $2317 back for federal that’s what the IRS accepted and I only got $917 back why was $1400 taken out when the IRS accepted my amount. I tried calling the IRS and everything on there end was fine so there should have been no reason for this and it took over a month for it to hit my account

I have no offsets so turbo tax should not have taken money out I need y’all to fix it
The government may have made a correction to your tax return, resulting in a lower than anticipated refund. Again, you'll get an official explanatory letter when this happens. You can also get this information by looking up your refund at the IRS Where's My Refund page.
Also, the TurboTax FAQ provided below will give you some more reasons as to why it may have been lower than expected.
Why did my refund go down compared to last year's?
Ok I get that and I have looked into it all and like I said there is no reason it should have been different TurboTax is doing this to a lot of people.. fix it please
At least your refund even came , days 34 and check my refund saying the same thing “We apologize, but your return processing has been delayed beyond the normal timeframe.” Very frustrating because if it’s a offset off the 1400 they should take it out and send the difference like yours . That third stimulus is what’s messing up people’s money.
The missing $1400 is because you told the IRS that you did not get the third recovery rebate and they are saying that it was paid to you. Some people just did not notice the $1400 deposit, some got it on a debit card and thought is was junk mail and threw it away, some had a paper check mailed to them and someone else stole itl. Contact the IRS and ask them what happened to the payment that they sent to you.
@LindseyLO All of us are saying the same thing. the IRS is not reporting that any of us have any offsets.
Exactly and No one can get ahold of the IRS
