I have e-filed my 2021 Tax returns. The IRS and the State both have excepted my returns.
The State has already sent my refund. Now I have learned two Form1099-R was not reported. The 1099-R forms not reported will not change the amount owe or the refund. Should I amend my taxes to add the form now or wait? It appears the IRS is holding my refund.

Please wait a little longer before you file an amended return. Let the IRS run through its procedure. They will probably send you a letter. That letter will give you guidance as t what to do next. If you want to contact the IRS the local number may provide better access.

Thanks for your reply. I agree with you.
One final question. Do you think contacting the IRS as mentioned in the reply will move things along quicker or make my situation better?
It’s not likely that contacting the IRS at this point will move things along. In fact, at this time of year when they’re so busy, it could actually cause a delay.
Wait until you receive your refund, or a letter from the IRS, before taking any action.
