Rejected e-file

I submitted my taxes by E-file.  They were rejected and the reasons given were, the AGI was incorrect or the Pin # didn't match last year.  I had not E-filed last year.  So, when everything seemed to check I got concerned and printed them and mailed them in.  Then I got a notice of a Critical reminder to resubmit my e-file.  My question is, have I really messed things up of can this be corrected?  Thank You

Rejected e-file

If you have printed and mailed your returns, you will need to wait for them to be processed.  You do not want to e-file if you have already submitted a return.

Also, please keep in mind it takes four weeks at a minimum to process mailed in returns.  If you have any other questions, please post in the thread here for further assistance.  To track your return with the IRS, please see the link here.

Rejected e-file

"If you have printed and mailed them in, you will need to wait to see if they are Accepted or Rejected. "

What? There is no REJECTED of a paper filing. IRS has it and will put it on the pile to be processed.

Rejected e-file

Thank you but my main concern is "will the rejected e-file now mess up the processing of my mailed in return?"  If it will what do I need to do?

Rejected e-file

If you e-File and it is REJECTED, it is as if it never happened.

Flooding IRS with e-Files may cause you to be locked out.

Rejected e-file

Rather than printing and sending in your returns, you should have put zero as the answer to your last year's AGI.  I had the same hassle and found this suggestion in another post.  Genius!

Rejected e-file

That might have worked since I didn't e-file last year.  I wanted tovget them in so I panicked and mailed them off.  I will keep that in mind for next year. Thanks.

Rejected e-file

I used Turbotax last year and this year it was rejected for wrong AGI.  Checked and double checked, but the numbers were the same.  How can this be fixed???

Rejected e-file

That's what happened to me and I couldn't figure it out so I printed and mailed the returnd.  I'm just hoping it doesn't foul the process up.

Rejected e-file

I had the same problem. Fixed by putting zero in the AGI box. Try it.

Rejected e-file

I want to find out why my e-file was rejected. My Reject code is IND-032-04. It did not accept the Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) for my spouse on a Joint Return. I checked my spouses AGI on the IRS.gov website and the amount is correct, same as mine. I also paid for a State e-file ($24.99 plus tax+$26.63) but since the Fed Return was rejected the State Return was also rejected. I need to know why I am unable to complete an e-file? I e-filed my 2020 Return without a problem. And on top of that, I cannot speak to a live person at INTUIT to help me troubleshoot this problem. If INTUIT no longer has live customer support they need to state it!

Rejected e-file

I've read every post I can find and no one recommended putting zero in the the AGI box of a previous joint return? On the contrary, several posts said do not put a zero in the box. Out of shear frustration, since there doesn't appear to be any live support at INTUIT, I tried putting a 0 in the AGI box and the software would not accept it. How were you able to get yours accepted? Was it a joint return? Did you check your spouses AGI for 2020 on the IRS website? I am absolutely furious that I had to print and file my returns this year and that I could not get any Live Support from INTUIT. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Rejected e-file

It was a single return on behalf of my daughter.  I don't have an IRS account for her, and didn't bother to check the AGI - only using the 2020 AGI that was in TurboTax.   As soon as I put in zero in the AGI box, the IRS accepted it.

It would have been a double-hassle if I couldn't get it accepted, because California requires my daughter to file her state return electronically, and the California Franchise Tax Board rejected the state e-file until the Federal return was accepted.

Rejected e-file

I was able to override the suggested AGI in the TurboTax software to put in zero in the Q&A just before hitting the button to file electronically.

Rejected e-file

Did you try overriding the suggested 2020 AGI to put in zero in the screen just before you hit e-file?  That was my savior...
