Returns were ACCEPTED for processing (even the early test batches)   however those PATH returns did not start processing until 2/15 which is why the first refund approvals & DDDs  did not hit until the 22nd  or later as they plowed thru the millions of returns that had piled up.  This is what the IRS said would happen no matter what the filers wanted to happen or hoped would happen. 

The IRS approves 9 of 10 returns in 21 days or less  however the PATH returns clock doesn't start until 2/15 or later ... this was a law change a couple of years ago and it will not be changed anytime soon since it effective in stemming the fraudulent refund payouts. 

Now the 9 of 10 is for the entire tax season which means of the 150 million returns filed some 15 million will be reviewed for some reason and a good portion of those returns will be the PATH returns ... reviews do not need to be evenly distributed over the course of the tax season ... so it is not surprising that there are a lot of delays right now.

i had to call the irs because mines keep saying that its processing and they said there sending my a identity quiz in the mail just so i can get my federal return back like wtf and it takes 2 weeks for it to come and if u dont get in 2 weeks u have to call back for them to send another paper in the mail and that takes another 2 weeks

Aceppted 1/27 

On 2/14 checked wmr and it still had bars, only one was filled the accepted.

2/15 Checked wmr and had No Bars displaying the Path Act.

2/16 Checked wmr and had No Bars but says  " We have received your return and it is being processed. " 

Checked all sites i could and found there is a big update on 2/22 . 

2/22 Checked wmr and still No Bars displaying the same thing. It has stayed that way every since.

Have heard another update will be this sat 2/29. So hoping that mine will update then. I have a few friends i know have got a direct deposit date last fri/sat. For today 2/26. One called and said they got theirs yesterday.  If anyone here's anything please update. I will do the same if something changes.  Goodluck and hopefully we get an update this weekend. 

2/27 Still nothing on wmr. It still says. 

"We have received your tax return and it is being processed.

Was hopeing i was the daily bunch but apparently im weekly just like last year. Really sucks waiting for it to update only once a week rather then daily. 

Hoping tomorrow night it will update for me we will see tho. Im sacared to call irs bc ive heard if you call they make you do the id verification. And i really dont want to go through it all again for another year. Had to do that 2 years ago... ugh..... so waiting impatiently....

Mines same way. Orange bar then changed to no bar with tax topic 152 and processing. A tax specialist told me that tax topic 152 simply means you’re getting a refund and it’s processing. I haven't checked this morning for any change. Kinda afraid lol

Same issue here. 

I filed my tax return jan 25. They excepted jan 27, and didn't tell me it would be delayed by the child tax credit, earned income credit, and new identity theft laws. I had to do some digging with the IRS but I finally got responses from them saying they wouldn't release any returns containing the CTC or the EIC until the first to second week of March! 😲 I was like your kidding the ones that typically claim those credits are the ones that usually need it the fastest to take care of their children...

I filed mine on Jan 20th it was accepted the 21st and it’s well over 21 days. All it says it that it’s processing!
