I am tempted to click on this but I feel like I would make it worse and maybe its not even needed?
- No, please resend the letter.
(If you have filed your return within the last 7 days, please allow an additional 14 days to receive the letter in the mail before requesting another one to be sent. You can then come back and continue verifying.)
As long as you were able to verify online and submitted your ID or DL then you should be ok. All you have to do now is just wait, unless they asked for other steps to do.
so you went to the ID me website? https://www.id.me/
With ID me they send out emails to you for video call with next steps. Emails take 2-3 days but you won’t lose your spot
Yeah! i went through the ID.me but then it took me to the IRS to input my control number. I should have tried it live I am unsure. But I did send ID.me my DL information and all. Which is why I am also saying maybe with that information is enough for them (IRS)? That's really all ID asked me for
Oh I see! welp I did the self service and sent them clear images of my information but they didn't ask me for anything else just kind of like they verified I guess? and sent me to the IRS to finish with the control number? like I said this has me thinking to not panic maybe. It does say if you received a letter to put it in or come back
Did you receive an IRS return verification letter (5071C, 5447C, 5747C, or 6331C) in the mail?
(You will need this letter to continue with this online service. If you received a letter, but don't have it with you, please come back later.)
Verify Your Letter
Enter the 14-digit control number provided on your letter, you don't need to use spaces.
Control Number
If you have no notices electronically from irs that means we are worrying too much about it. If letter got mailed out, it should be displayed electronically on your page too.
So no letter,, nothing to do. Id say leave it alone and try not to click around or anything and start opening a can of worms lol . Think mail letters are important. If we didn’t get one, then we are ok.
I also have this on the IRS notifications like I said
We need more information about your 2023 tax return before it can be processed.
So I am unsure to be fair
Ok, so .. is there a link to click on on your notice? How do they expect you to verify with no indication in what to do online? That is very vague. Id say wait for mail
Yeah I was thinking that too lol. Better not touch anything and yes, if you checked as well and you have nothing not even a notice then yeah more than likely we are digging deeper. I was having an anxiety attack as I never had to deal with something like this but hopefully things do get resolved for both of us this week.
Pretty much and nothing I can do on my end now. I won't click either I have the feeling it will mess up. For now I will stick with the notice being blank and just wait for a notification since I opted in for them. But yes like I said nothing on notices.
Thank god for that, no letter !! Think they’re just taking their time verifying the tax return that is all. I think we are ok.
Lol .. I even applied to renew my passport and paid $65 process fee, have to pay another $160 and sent my passport back lol … that’s what panic does to you … extra steps can’t get my DL renewed I owe tickets scared to walk into dps to request and ID meanwhile lol
Literally praying! the tax return verification is on my notifications but on the notices (which is separate i guess) it has nothing. So yes no letter for now. I am also looking at a few recent YouTube videos in regards to the IRS so hopefully that should give some insight as well. I don't know if I am allowed to post links but let me know if you want to check them out with me and maybe see if that could also help us with our issue just to be safe
Aww man I feel you! and I am sorry you have to go through that. but hopefully we are good to go I am still panicking and I am all over the place
sure. Send them over
