If it doesn't get posted to your account within the next few days, there may be a problem with your account information that the IRS has. If it gets sent to the wrong account, the bank should refuse it and the IRS will then likely mail you a check with the payment.
You will get a letter within 15 days of when the original payment was sent with instructions on what to do if you didn't get it.
The info i put for my direct deposit was right alot of people that used turbo tax hr block and Jackson Hewitt check was deposited in wrong accounts the 4 numbers showing on the irs my payment tool is showing unknow numbers to people so im just trying to find out if anyone has info for us that this happened to on what we need to do to receive our payment to the right account
if the IRS tried to direct deposit to an account that is incorrect /closed, they will default to a paper check.
I suspect if you did the TT loan advance or had the fees subtracted from your tax refund, it's highly likely you are in this camp. 😟
I have the same issue but I cannot find the answer for my situation and no one here has given me a answer so Ill tell you what I've learned, maybe it applies to you.
There are 2 cases where if you filed taxes with Turbo Tax or another service and either had turbo tax pay for service with your returned funds or got a loan for your returns before they were released by IRS you may have been caught in a glitch where the Gov used the tmp holding account that TT or Loan company used to collect their payment before sending the funds to you. In this case it is my understanding you will get a paper check.
@ckirby1981 - that appears to be correct - it really isn't a glitch per se , but the way the product works, i don't think TT ever anticipated a stimulus situation where the IRS was driving as many as possible to direct deposit.
Thank you so from what u know there isn't anything i need to do just wait and see if comes in mail
correct
