My. Taxes went under review its days 45 days what does that mein

That does not seem right or fair. I have tried searching online to see what the IRS has to do regarding people's refunds legally. Like when they have to release someone's funds. This is absolute bull. I have never had a problem in all my years filing taxes, and it seems like everyone who is having issues this year are the ones who recieve bigger refunds. It's like they are trying to hold onto the funds for as long as possible. Maybe searching to see if anyone with the bigger refunds owes money to any government agencies anywhere that they can collect from the refund. It blows my mind that when you call the IRS, no one can tell you anything. No one who works there has any idea or clue what is going on with your taxes or what it's being reviewed for. I mean, 107 days I've been waiting. If there was an issue, I could have supplied them with whatever information they needed by now, but nope. They refuse to tell you, what is their logical reason behind that??

I have been dealing with this since around the same time frame (file date Feb 2nd). Yesterday my 60 days was up, this morning no update so I called and spoke to a very nice lady(luckily, this is the 5th person I have talked to and the only one to give me any info) that gave me the information as to why my refund is being held, (one w-2 has not been sent to them) I asked if I could fax them to them but she stated that it was the company's w-2 they needed and that the hold would be lifted as soon as they can verify what I reported. I got off the phone and instantly called the company and complained to them, so I'm just hoping that things go through asap.

Well my TA FINALLY reached out to me after a whole month and told me that my refund looked good and nothing was needed from me. She said that the computers will update on tomorrow and that I should see my refund by Wednesday 5/29. I hope she’s right and something does show up because I’m at the end of my rope with this. Keep on holding on guys!!

*update* checked wmr and it’s still saying processing. Checked my transcript and have updated with a 846 code and DDD of 5/30. It didn’t update on wmr for me so y’all keep on checking those transcripts if you can. Thanks you guys for all of the encouragement thru all of this. I’m praying that good news will find it’s way to everyone soon!

Update anyone? I called and tried to check in and see if the IRS has received the w-2 that was missing but the lady I spoke with was rude as hell and told me that I had no reason to be calling and that I just need to wait. BS.

Nope. I still havent received a letter after the additional 60 days, which were up last week. I asked them where my letter was too, they couldnt give me an answer. I have a daily report from the USPS that gets sent to my email daily of every piece of mail I will be getting that day too & there is nothing & has been nothing sent to me. Its absurd they don't have any regulations that they follow & basically can do whatever they want for however long they want with zero explanation or detail.

I never received any notice except my cp05 notice in the beginning. I agree that they do what they want, and its ridiculous. I just want my damn money as we all do!

Hello taxes were filed and accepted 2/9/2019. Bars disappeared around 2/23. With code 152 and still being processed message. I waited until 3/14 no update on WMR. I walked into my local IRS building. Where the tax professional looked over my review and told me I had to verify my w2’s which I did at that moment. She then went on to state I would be receiving a letter by 3/25. I was told to do nothing it was a CP05 45 day review. My question is since I took care of the “manual review” by having an IRS employee update my profile will that speed up my process or should I get a Tax Advocate?

So here it is February 22 2020 and I'm under this stupid 45 day review crapola for the first time ever! And thinking what the heck did i do? Starting March 2nd 2020 the IRS will be doing this review. Can anyone please tell me if it took the full 45 day review or did you get it earlier? I'm truly worried I'm buying a house this year and I've read that the 45 day review can turn into a 60 day if they find problems and if you still don't receive your refund after that you'll have to get it amended. Ugh I'm freaking out !! Please help!

It doesn't necessarily mean there is something wrong. Unfortunately, TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS once the tax return is accepted. So we would not have any information on how long the IRS will take to review the return.

Please see the TurboTax FAQ below for more information:

Why do some refunds take longer than others?

What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?
