Only the IRS will know when they will be finished with the return and will release your refund.

The best way to track the status of your return is to check the Where's My Refund website, which is located here

I'm getting the same message, I filed mine on 1/29/19 it was"approved" according to Turbotax a few days later and I was issued my cash advance. Now on the Where's My Refund Tracking it just says the IRS has received my taxes and it's being processed. It's going on 3 weeks now. No other information to go on.  Clearly the IRS isn't answering my question and that's why I am turning to you now so please do better than "I don't know"

If you chose to pay with your refund, you can track your refund activity below.

For some taxpayers, PATH Act requirements and other identity-protection safeguards implemented by the IRS may account for longer wait times.

Other things that can delay your refund include, but are not limited to:

  • Liens, back taxes, or refund offsets
  • Errors, inconsistencies, or missing information
  • Identity fraud
  • Form 8379, Injured Spouse Allocation, which can take 11-14 weeks to process

Also, if you chose direct deposit, your financial institution may need another day or two to post the refund to your account, so keep that in mind.
