I am filing an amendment since I forgot to add a 1099-B form. I have linked my accounts and I was about to send in my amendment, but I got stuck when the system asked about the stimulus payment. I did not receive the first two stimulus checks, but I did receive them as a lump sum when I first filed my return. I tried saying I did not receive them as part of the first two stimulus checks, but the system gives me a $1800 credit, which I do not believe is correct. However, if I say, that I did receive the checks, it requires me to pay $1800 to the IRS, which I also believe is incorrect. What do you recommend I do going forward?

That appears to be a problem that has not yet been addressed. My advice is to wait until there is additional guidance and an update to the software to amend. It is an issue that will definitely have to be addressed.
I am having the is issue also. Does anyone have a solution? Do I unclick the box saying that I received the stimulus?
@Jjone Either way, the IRS is cross checking all stimulus claimed against what has been paid. Amended returns should not be filed until the original is done processing. If you are actually done with all original filing, then the desktop version would be smart to use the desktop version so that you can go into the FORMS mode and correct the stimulus information. You can do that from amend online, click to download software and move .tax file.
Once your original return is accepted and the finances are settled, you can file an amended return.
